The half-vampire vampire hunter has been around for a long, long time. Check out some old Marvel issues of Tomb of Dracula for a look at the old Blade, with his green safety glasses. Here are the more recent covers.
Morbius & the Midnight Sons (Marvel Comics) -
The Living Vampire of Marvel Comics. Dr. Michael Morbius, who first appeared as an adversary of Spiderman, was trying to find a cure for his blood disease, and accidentally turned himself into a bloodsucking monster. Most of these covers are more recent, but the older ones are worth checking out as well.
Chastity (Chaos Comics) -
Chastity Marks was born in Toledo, Ohio to a hairdresser dad and a browbeaten mom. She took off to join the Royal Shakespeare company in London, only to be turned away at the door, and left to find employment at a punk clothing shop and as a band roadie. One night that all changed when she was bitten and turned by a vampire. This Actress/Assassin/Vampire and all around cutie is pictured here in all her glory.
Vampirella (Harris Comics) -
Beautiful, sexy and deadly, Vampirella is another old favorite who has not lost her charm with the passing of time. Histories vary (and I don't have every single book, so it's easy to get confused), but some stories have it that she came from a world called Drakulon, where the rivers ran with blood instead of water. The rivers dried up, and she came to earth in search of more sustenance. In general, however, she is a formidable opponent to the forces of evil, rather than a part of them.
Vamps (DC Vertigo) -
Who can resist 5 bad girl biker vampires on the run from the law, their ex-lover/sire and the vampire council? These girls each have their own personality, their own needs, desires and dreams. I love the poster tagline: They may be vampires, but you'll respect them in the morning. The writing is excellent...DC Vertigo impresses yet again.
Other Comic Book Vamps -
These are the vampires that had too few pictures for their own page, or that I came across randomly and haven't actually read. In here are Scarlett, a few Dracula titles from various companies, as well as other, odder titles. I do not personally recommend all of these, but some are definitely worth checking out. I will be adding more covers soon, and a Tomb of Dracula section eventually.
